Ryan MacGrath & Gypsophilia join forces

By | May 27, 2010

Attention music fans: the week will see one of the coolest concerts to hit this city in a while. Ryan MacGrath and Gypsophilia are playing their first show together on May 28 at the Halifax Club. The concert is your first chance to hear a unique musical collaboration and songs from MacGrath’s much anticipated debut album Cooper Hatch Paris, which launches in July.

In a press release, MacGrath talks about the partnership: “My producer, Jason Michael MacIsaac and I approached Gypsophilia last fall. Their musicianship and versatility was exactly what we needed to achieve the world music and soul vibes that we wanted for the songs… We soon began rehearsing the songs, a process which lasted for about two months, and finally went into the studio at the end of January of this year. Because they were so familiar with the material by then, the actual recording of their parts took only two days, and was achieved ‘live off the floor’ with them all playing together in one room. The result of having them involved is one which brings the songs into a very dreamy, orchestral realm.”
