Chef Luis Gaspar and partner Victoria Dunham Gaspar are longtime veterans of Halifax’s dining scene and they made waves when they launched Pipa Restaurant & Bar on Argyle Street last year. Specializing in Portuguese cuisine, Pipa is the only restaurant of its type in Halifax. Last year, our sister magazine, Where Halifax, feted it as Halifax’s best new restaurant. Ready to try something different for , specializing in Old World and Brazilian dishes such as Moqueca (fish stew) and Feijoada (a stew of meats and black beans). Seafood dishes abound, including fresh grilled sardines. Most recently, Luis and Victoria finished work on a stunning atrium, making the dining room bright, airy and inviting. Pipa is a refreshing hit of something different on the downtown dining scene.
