18th-century Revolutionary War Encampment, The Second Citadel in the age of Revolution

September 21 - September 22

Don’t miss the spectacle as members of various Maritime Living History groups join forces to create an 18th century military camp inside the historic walls of the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site. This period during the American Revolution saw thousands of Loyalists immigrate to Nova Scotia making a significant contribution to a new nation, what would eventually become Canada.

The finer details of camp life will be on display including camp cooking, washing, everyday tasks, blacksmithing and children’s games. The Encampment runs Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
