Group of Seven & Friends hooked rug art exhibit
May 2 @ 5:00 pm - May 5 @ 5:00 pm
Group of Seven & Friends is a 4-day hooked rug art exhibit that takes place May 2 – 5 at the Fairbanks Centre, 54 Locks Road (off the Waverley Road) in Dartmouth.
This exhibit of ‘wool paintings’ celebrates the 100th anniversary of Canada’s internationally-renowned Group of Seven painters and a few of their friends. Admission is free. This special exhibit is presented by the Dartmouth Heritage Matters rug hooking group and their friends from the Eastern Shore. All 100+ women in this extended group are either exhibiting, organizing or supporting this exhibit.
The Dartmouth/Eastern Shore group is extending an invitation to the opening of the exhibit on Thursday, May 2, from 5-9 pm at the Fairbanks Centre. After the opening on Thursday, the show will continue for the rest of the weekend at the Fairbanks Centre — Friday, 5-9 pm, Saturday 1-5 pm and Sunday 1-5 pm.
