Join Symphony Nova Scotia and the highly acclaimed Vesuvius Ensemble for a delightful baroque concert celebrating the rich, vibrant music of southern Italy – all the way from the royal court of Naples to the popular music of the streets. Hear refined concertos and sonatas by Leonardo Leo, Alessandro Scarlatti, and Francesco Durante, performed alongside effervescent tarantellas, earthy street songs, and arias from comic operas. Featuring celebrated Italian tenor Francesco Pellegrino and baroque specialists Marco Cera and Lucas Harris on a variety of authentic period instruments. Presented in honour of the many Italian immigrants who have arrived in Canada through Pier 21.
